God's Complete Victory
God's Complete Victory
By Rodney Francis
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57).
MORE than anything else in life we need to be able to walk in complete victory — in every situation. The full and complete victory was purchased for us at Calvary when Jesus took upon Himself our sins and failures. It is not enough to be set free from sin alone - our old sinful nature has to be replaced with Christ's Victorious nature. "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27). He has provided so much for us in His death and resurrection that really we have no excuse for not living in complete victory day by day to the glory of God. The Lord Himself has removed every obstacle out of our way; for it is His will that we learn to know the full blessings provided for us in Christ. The only true victory is "through our Lord Jesus Christ." As we daily seek to walk close to Him, He teaches us the secrets of keeping His victory flowing in our heart!
Let me share with you another mighty Scripture: "Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:14). Think upon this verse for a moment - GOD ALWAYS CAUSES US TO TRIUMPH IN CHRIST! Not sometimes, but always! God has a complete and continual victory for us in Christ! Praise His name.
You do not need to live a defeated life any longer. You may have problems in your home, at work, even with yourself, but if you will lay hold on the promises of God's Word to you, He will bring you through into complete victory. Often we feel, "If only the circumstances were different, I would be more free for the things of the Lord." Let me remind you that God's promises are not limited to circumstances. Rather, if we really do want His victory in every situation, then He will change US, to enable US to conquer our circumstances - "through our Lord Jesus Christ." He always causes us to triumph! We cannot blame God for our failures; but we can thank Him that we do not need to stay in our failures!
God has provided us with mighty spiritual weapons which, when used, will "pull down strongholds, imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (God's revealed will for us), and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). If we do not use these weapons that the Lord has given us, then WE will be brought into captivity. We will lose the victory Christ died to give us. Those things which have defeated us in times past, can themselves be defeated as we lay hold on the victory that is rightfully ours through Jesus Christ. Do not let the enemy of your soul rob you any longer. Claim the complete victory which God wants you to have and enjoy - and walk daily in it, giving glory to His name.
GOD ALWAYS CAUSES US TO TRIUMPH IN CHRIST! If we are to accomplish anything real for the Kingdom of God, then it is very important that we know how to stand in the victory of the Cross. To be an overcomer, we must overcome. If we are not an overcomer, it is because we are overcome. God will always cause us to triumph — when we will let Him triumph in us.
The Apostle Paul is a man loved by multitudes of Christians the world over, because of the inspired writings he has left us for our growth in grace in the Christian walk. Very few people, however, are prepared to live the life he did, i.e., the trials, persecutions, hardships, buffetings of Satan, etc. (2 Corinthians 11:23-33). It seems he faced every kind of opposition anyone could ever face; and yet he learned to live in Christ's victory in whatever state he was. His heart attitude was not that of struggling to keep the victory — rather he boldly declares: "For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, THEREWITH TO BE CONTENT. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME" (Philippians 4:11-13). Paul learned how to turn every situation (whether impossible or otherwise) into contentment. To be content in circumstances like that surely speaks of the victory in that man's life. But he did not stop at that! He goes on to tell us that he could do all things through Christ Who strengthened him. Paul is telling us that there are absolutely no circumstances at all in life that can rob us of Christ's victory; unless of course WE allow them.
In Romans 8, Paul again reveals the complete victory which is ours through Jesus Christ. We can name anything we like; but he was persuaded that IN ALL THINGS WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH CHRIST THAT LOVED US - MORE THAN CONQUERORS! The strongest onslaught the enemy can bring against us, we are able to effectively conquer, with plenty in reserve! We are more than conquerors through Jesus Who loves us! This is the kind of victory that God has for those who love Him and who believe the promises of His Word. We cannot go under for going over!
With Christ's victory in our heart, we cannot help but attain those things that He has called us to, and to be used of Him to bring forth much praise, honour and glory to His name. May this message be your daily experience and joy. Amen.
