Barnabas Bulletin ~ 0050 WE HAVE SOMETHING TO DECLARE
What a lot of encouragement there is for us in these verses. It speaks of a growing relationship with the Living God, Who teaches us as we walk in right relationship with Him. There is nothing greater than to have that assurance that God Himself is with us day by day, and Who is always “on our case.” He delights in us and has chosen us to be His witnesses of His goodness and grace. He teaches us! He reveals His wondrous works to us! He strengthens us! He empowers us!He does all these things in order that we have something very real and positive to declare. He has chosen us to declare His name, His works, His strength and His power. What an awesome privilege we Christians have. There is not one genuine Christian believer who can honestly say they have nothing to declare about the Lord our God. He has been working in us over the years for the express purpose of giving us something powerful and impacting to declare to our generation! When God teaches us over the years of our life, we certainly do have something to declare! This is not a time to be silent. It is a time to be declaring “what the Lord has done for us!” For those of us who were born-again by the Holy Spirit in our youth, we have so much to thank God for. He has spared us from so much sin, damage and wasted living! I know for me, that I am still ministering Jesus today on the foundational prophetic principles He spoke into my life at 18 years of age. Those principles have enabled me to declare around the world what the Lord has done (and is still doing)! What a tremendous blessing to know that “God has taught me from my youth.” He has taught us in such a way that we do have something to declare. What do we declare? We declare what the Lord has taught us! There is no greater Teacher than He! And when God teaches us we do have something to say, to declare! Let’s be finished with our excuses and let this Scripture minister powerfully into our spirit, knowing “the Lord has need of you”! And here is some even greater news – God does not stop working in us because we grow older and grey headed! His intentions are not for us to become “no longer relevant” or to “pass our use by date”! He continues to strengthen us so we can declare His strength and His power to the people! This generation desperately needs the Jesus of the Bible, the Jesus you and I say we follow, love and obey. Let us not be swayed or put-off by the unbelief of those who do not know what we know – who do not know WHO we know! The older we become, the more we should have to declare to others. The older we become, the more experiences and maturity we have to add to our credit. Be encouraged to know afresh today WHO this JESUS is that lives inside of you, and let the reality, peace, inner knowing and excitement of that cause you to declare all He has done for you. Do not hold back. Step forth and declare the wonders of God! As we do that we are “setting the scene,” the standards, the testimony of Jesus Christ for the generations to come. – Rodney W. Francis. Bible Readings: Psalm 71; Proverbs 18:24; 1 Corinthians 4:20; 1 Corinthians 15:57-58; Ephesians 3:14-20. Please Pray This Prayer: “Dear Lord, I am ever so thankful that You have picked me up from a wasted life, poured Your love and Holy Spirit into me, so that I might declare Your wonders in my generation. I have so much to thank You for, the things you have delivered me from, and have protected me from. You have worked in my life in such a way that I am able to declare Your wonderful works, Your strength, and Your power in these very days in which I live. What a tremendous and awesome God You are! You have faithfully been with me and instructed me over the years of my life, and I am so very grateful. How can I help but love and serve You right through into the years of my old age. You are indeed that ‘Friend that sticks closer than a brother’! In Jesus’ name, I pray these things, Amen.” The Gospel Faith Messenger Ministry, New Zealand.
