Barnabas Bulletin ~ 0004

ALL around us today there are people who feel they have missed the call of God. Things have happened, negative words have been spoken, rejection has set in, personal failure has been felt, and dashed hopes have been experienced. All these things have contributed to causing great numbers of Christians to pull back from the call of God. Let me say to you today, "God has not changed His mind on His calling on your life." Your circumstances do not "throw" Him. He is BIGGER than all your circumstances, and reasonings, and excuses. God wants only His very best for you. There is a huge difference between "His best" and "second best" for your life.

You and I have a destiny to fulfil. We have been called into partnership with God through the Holy Spirit. He wants - more than anything else - for you to fulfil His call on your life.

  • Don't give up!

  • Don't draw back!

  • Don't let go of that call!

  • Don't settle for second best!

Moses became one of the greatest leaders in Israel's history (Deuteronomy 34:10-12). He knew he was called to set the people free. When he sought to obey the call of God, things went wrong. The people didn't understand; he reacted wrongly; he killed an Egyptian, and had to run for his life. In seeking to fulfil his call he "messed up" and became a fugitive and a bit of a recluse in a foreign land. For 40 years he contended with God and himself. What a failure he must have felt. The isolation, the loneliness, and the reality of experiencing the shame, the failure and the negative talk - plus a murder "rap" on his head.

Did God make a mistake? No! Did God change His mind on Moses? No! He actually used the "negatives" to instil into him a preparation for what was yet to come. And it came. Men and women will quickly "write us off," but not God. He has invested in you and me. He has even called us by name (Isaiah 43:1-3). Whether you realize it or not, God is personally involved in the affairs of your life. Settle that fact! He hasn't passed you by.

Be encouraged today to lift up your heart to God. Give Him all the pieces - the disappointments, the fears, the failures, the setbacks, those authority figures who have blocked your progress, etc. Don't think - because of those things - that God has given up on you. He hasn't! He's there for you right now! If you are willing to heed His call and listen to His voice, He can raise you up far beyond anything you have ever accomplished before. Your future is destined in God to be far greater than your past! Don't let your past ruin your future. Walk out of it - give it to God!

This is a day when the Moses' of "the church in the wilderness" are rising up with a prophetic word to set God's people free. Be one of them! Be that man, that woman of destiny He has called you to be.

If you are really willing for the will of God to be done in your life, then God will move heaven and earth to make it happen for you! What will be your response to His call? Will you say "YES" to His call today? Don't miss His best for you.

Bible  Readings:  Exodus 2:11-15; Acts 7:20-38; Romans 8:26-39.

Please Pray This Prayer:

"Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the precious and worthy name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Right now I present my whole life to You - my past, my present, and my future. Please forgive me for the way I've reacted to those negative circumstances that have come against my life, and have caused me to become indifferent to Your divine call on my life. Lord, I want to put all the negatives behind me; I want to rise up into all that You have destined for me. Help me to get my eyes off everything and everyone that would distract me from Your call. Please renew Your call on my life today. Let me hear Your voice clearly, so I can obey. I desire Your very best for my life - do not let me be content with 'second best.' I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen."
