Why Choose Jesus?

Why Choose Jesus?

By Tania Francis (Paraparaumu New Zealand)

Why would you want to make the choice to have God in your life and make Jesus become the Lord of your Life? First and foremost you are unable to enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless you understand and acknowledge that Jesus died on the Cross so that you can be cleansed of your sins ~ for we are all sinners (even the most well-behaved, most-liked, caring people in this world are not free from sin).  God loves us so much that He sacrificed His only Son (Jesus) so we can discover the secrets to an eternal life.  All He asks us to do is to ask for forgiveness of our sins and acknowledge and thank Jesus for dying for us; and then to ask Jesus to become Lord of our life.  That is all He requires of us; it is actually so simple, yet for some, it seems so complex.

If you decide to make the important step to discover the secret world of God (it comes by revelation), you can learn to know what He can do for you.  God is like a Father, a Healer, a Teacher, and a Good Boss.  He teaches you things to make you stronger and wiser. He loves you and compliments you when you need it. He disciplines you and He lets you stumble only to pick you back up again.  God rewards those who diligently seek Him and love Him.  If you seek Him ~ and even work for Him ~ then He rewards you with healings and blessings.  A lot of people think being a Christian is about striving to become this holy person (and in your own strength that is impossible). That only creates unrealistic expectations, and many people decide it is too hard to be ’that’ good, so they either walk away, or don’t seek God in the first place.  God does not expect these things from you, and neither should you. It is about opening yourself up and being open to changing one step one day at a time.  It is about yielding. God sees your heart, but you will make mistakes. But fortunately for us, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so they are already forgiven before we even do them (all we need to do is to confess them and ask His forgiveness).  If you endeavour to just read 10 -15 minutes of reading the Bible daily, and spend 10 minutes with pen and paper and pray to God and ask Him to speak to you each day,  you will be surprised at how He will speak to you.  A lot of religious people have mindsets and feel they have to go to church, have to do religious things, but it is really about simply having a personal relationship with God (through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit) ~ that is what God wants most of all with you.  When you practice hearing God’s voice and, along with regular Bible reading, He can transform your life and lead you in a direction that He has specifically hand picked especially for you. His path is the best path that you could possibly imagine.  It doesn’t mean it is the easiest path (as there are many hurdles and obstacles to overcome) but it is definitely the best path.  God can do things in your life that no amount of counselors, doctors, therapists could ever do!  Every single one of us needs God because ’Life isn’t Life’ without God.
