0129 - The Voice Of God And Faith

THE  VOICE  OF  GOD  AND FAITH

The reason why the prophetic ministry is so important is because it is all about hearing and recognizing the voice of God in what ever way it comes to us. The voice of God is truth and can be totally relied upon when we know it is indeed His voice speaking to us. One major reason why hearing God’s voice is so important is because it is His voice that activates faith in our lives: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). “Word” here is the “rhema” or “present tense now word of God” ~ that which is spoken to us by the Holy Spirit today. Faith is not a self-generated belief. It comes by hearing, receiving, and then acting upon that which we have heard first from God. The Bible is quite clear in telling us that “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). It is possible to hear from God and yet not do anything with it. The word which we hear must be received into our hearts in such a way that we respond to it by mixing faith with it (that is our responsibility). Otherwise it will not profit us (Hebrews 4:1-3). One reason why there are so many problems amongst Christians today (generally speaking) is because we have not been taught the importance of each Christian discovering the voice of God in their own lives as something to be treasured, believed and obeyed. The majority of Christians I talk with admit to doubting the voice of God; or, worse still, having never heard the voice of God for themselves. Leaders have a responsibility to teach this vital aspect of Christianity ~ and then trust their people to act upon it. We stand or fall by our ability to hear and recognize God’s voice to us. True faith cannot be activated without our hearing from God. The voice of God and then “faith mixed” to it are the receiving and doing of what God wants!

In The GFM Ministry we are called by God to function in the things we do. As we keep to doing that which we know God has spoken to us about, we see His provision come through for us. Each month we minister to multiplied thousands of lives around the world. Several thousand are currently going through our free Bible Correspondence Courses in many countries. We are printing books, many of which are given out freely, as we are called to get the Message of the Gospel out to the nations. The Ministry is in its 48th year of operation ~ and every month every bill is paid! Praise the Lord! We do not have numbers of churches financing us; in fact only one small church in New Zealand faithfully every month sends us a donation. In reality, we do not know where our next dollar is coming from. Yet, I know (by the many pleading mails that come in to us) that it would be easy to step outside the realm of what God has called us to, and let our hearts run ahead of our faith. We would move from faith to presumption ~ and God is not committed to provide for our presumptions! The result of that would be that soon we would needing to be asking for help “to keep the work of the Lord going.” I believe God is wanting His people to know today that He will provide for that which He asks of us (Philippians 4:19). Surely this is the promise of His word to us!

If we feel we are lacking in faith, then we need to go to God and hear afresh His voice to us. Let us hear again what He has called us for in this hour, and then be committed to doing that which He has requested of us. When we do what He asks of us, His promise is to provide our every need to accomplish it. The challenge for Christians in this hour is to let GOD be GOD in and through us, and doing that which He has called us to do. That “doing” is called faith, and faith pleases God! ~ Rodney W. Francis.

Scripture Readings:   Romans 4:20-24; Romans 10:16-17; Hebrews 4;Hebrews 11.

Please pray this prayer:

“Dear God, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and I ask You to help me to be more connected to Your voice. Help me to be humble enough to listen to You, to recognize You, and to be servant-hearted enough to respond to You in faith and obey what You say to me. I really do want to do Your will, and to be an effective and fruitful minister of Your Supernatural Gospel in my day and generation. I desire to fulfil Your vision for my life! Thank You, Lord. Please speak to me today. In Jesus' name, I pray these things. Amen."
