True Christianity Is Knowing God
TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS KNOWING GOD

With so many religions and belief systems rampant in our world today it is important that people have a clear and definite understanding of what true Christianity is. In John 17:3, Jesus made this statement: “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent.” Jesus was praying to His Father. As Jesus is “The Way, The Truth and The Life, and no one comes to God the Father except through Jesus” (John 14:6), we need to listen to what He says. The key to true Christianity is knowing God ~ not knowing about Him, giving lip service to Him, or the doing of religious rituals. To know God the Father means that we also have to know Jesus Christ the Son, because no one can get to God except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). This is where many religious beliefs get found out. They do not give God and Jesus their rightful position. Any belief that robs Jesus Christ of His Deity is in error. To personally know God will have an enormous impact on our lives and on the way we live and conduct ourselves. Personal knowledge of God transforms us into new creations that changes the whole course of our life. That is what being born-again by the Holy Spirit is all about. True Christianity is a whole new and different way to what we have ever known before. We enter into a personal and real relationship with “the God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5) and discover that He has a wonderful plan for each of our lives, that when we walk in that plan, it brings glory to God and demonstrates to others that He is alive and real ~ because He is alive and real in us!
HOW STRONG IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS?
Knowing God releases a power within us that enables us to do things that we have never been able to do before. Look at this challenging statement: “The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Daniel 11:32). The knowledge of God gets translated into action! It enables us to do mighty things. This power comes into us through the Mighty Holy Spirit ~ the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11)! He now resides in every Holy Spirit-filled believer and anoints us to do things that can be amazing. Consider this statement: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, Who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). Jesus left us with a commission to go and do the works He did. He sent the same Holy Spirit to indwell these mortal bodies of ours so we can have a personal, living relationship with Him that is transformed into action and good works to demonstrate to others that Jesus is alive today ~ in us! It makes sense to me that if we have a personal relationship with the Living God, and He now lives inside of us, then we have been given real evidence to share with others this abundant life of Jesus residing within us! We cannot continue to be the same when we have the Living Christ living inside of us! It cannot get more personal than that!
The question is, “How real and strong is our personal relationship with Jesus Christ? Do we know Him as the Best Friend we have ever had? Do we know His voice and are in such a love relationship with Him that we are wholly committed to doing whatever He asks of us?” Unless we have that kind of relationship, then we will struggle in our walk with Him. We will struggle to know His will and can wander through life wondering what His purpose and plan is for us.
God has so much to reveal to those who are in a committed love-relationship with Him, who know Him because of that relationship. Christianity is an ongoing, unfolding revelation of Jesus Christ that always amazes us as to Who He is. His desire is that we know Him in such a personal way that we have no doubts whatever as to what His purpose is for us here on this earth. Knowing God motivates me more than anything else I know! To me, there is nothing more wonderful than to know the will of God for my life, and to be doing it. There is such a fulfilment and joy, love and peace that causes us to rest in the revealed will of God for us. The Bible declares that: “Whatever is born of God overcomes the world . . .” (1 John 5:4). This statement reveals that God does birth things within His born-again, Holy Spirit-filled believers that enables us to rise above every obstacle that would try and put us down, or make us doubt that that which is “birthed” in us is from God. There are plenty to discourage us, but knowing Jesus in a personal way is very encouraging and releases ability and power within us to do things we could never do without God in us! I have discovered that when I do the will of God He makes me much more effective and fruitful than ever before. His heart is that we all bear much fruit to His praise, honour and glory.
KNOWING GOD INSPIRES FAITH!
The second half of the above Scripture is: “And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” When we know we are carrying in our lives that which is birthed of God, it does incredible things for our faith. It enables us to believe God for things we have never been able to believe Him for in the past. Knowing God and Christ within through the Mighty Holy Spirit releases us to experience realms of faith, hope and love that are God-glorifying and more fruitful than any other way I know. In The GFM Ministry we are daily proving the Faithfulness of God as He provides for us to do things that (a few years ago) were beyond our comprehension. Today multiplied thousands of lives around the world are being impacted by God because we are being “obedient to the heavenly vision” He gave us (Acts 26:16-19). Yet we live by faith and do not really know where our next dollar is coming from! It is God! And I so enjoy living this way! I’ve never been more secure in all my life! Yet, logically, it does not make sense – one cannot live the way we do and see many thousands of dollars released to enable us to fulfil the calling and purpose of God for our lives. The secret is knowing God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent!
May every person who reads this see the importance of cultivating a very real and personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. He waits with outstretched arms to receive every one who will come to Him. He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34-35). Be encouraged to let go of every obstacle, every past failure and sin; let go of any excuses that have robbed you of rising up to fulfil your destiny in the One Who loves you more than anyone else on this planet. His name is JESUS, and He has made Himself available to YOU! Right now, in an act of faith, fall into His arms, listen to His voice and allow Him to reveal more of Himself to you today. You will never regret giving your all to Jesus. God bless you!
